What is the PTAC?
The Niwot Elementary School Parent Teacher Advisory Council (PTAC) is a very dynamic, involved group of volunteers dedicated to enhancing student achievement, advocating for children and serving the Niwot Elementary School Community. The Executive Board and Committees strive to make our school a fun, enriching environment where students, staff and parents partner to build a lively, close community. Every year we host events such as Movie Night, the Niwot Trot, Dining for Dollar$, the Talent Show, and the Cougar Carnival to foster community building.
The PTAC has invested in technology at NES, and maintains, supports and collaborates with staff to manage these technology investments. One of our biggest investments is in funding and supporting the Discovery Lab.
In addition, we support our staff both in and outside of the classroom. Inside the classroom, parents volunteer countless hours to support teachers and nurture our students. We also support our teachers by preparing meals during busy times, such as conference nights, and by providing teacher grants for classroom use. The PTAC also funds field trips for every grade level each year.
Our largest financial commitment is to staffing paraprofessionals in the classroom. The PTAC funds classroom paraprofessionals at every grade level to reduce the student to teacher ratio and to support Niwot's mission of differentiated instruction.
