What is the Cougar Campaign? TheCougar Campaign is an annual direct appeal fundraiser for Niwot Elementary.
I’d like to give to the Cougar Campaign, but I’m not comfortable with the amount suggested. What should I do? We want to emphasize that all donations are appreciated and confidential. Every family at NES is encouraged to give what they can, no matter the amount. We truly are grateful for any amount given. Our goal is to reach 100% participation, as 100% of our students are positively impacted by the instruction of paraprofessionals in the classrooms.
How do I give to the Cougar Campaign? Giving is easy! Visit our main Cougar Campaign page to donate online or learn about other options.
Why is the Cougar Campaign towards the beginning of the school year when I have so many other expenses for back-to-school? Each year in partnership with school administration the PTAC sets an annual budget. By far the largest expense of the PTAC is the funding for paraprofessionals to help support differentiated education at Niwot Elementary. It is important for us to know early in the year how we as a community will fulfill the commitment we have made to employ the paraprofessionals. By holding the Cougar Campaign early in the year we are able to adjust our plans for the remainder of the year based on how the community responds.
Can friends and extended family give to the Cougar Campaign? Yes! The Cougar Campaign runs through October, however donations are accepted and appreciated all year. NES parents are encouraged to mention the campaign to other family members and friends. All donors will receive an email thanking them for their donation and providing a receipt for tax purposes.
How does the PTAC arrive at the Cougar Campaign suggested donation amounts? The suggested donation amounts are based on three factors:
The annual PTAC budget, specifically our commitment to employ paraprofessionals through the district
The anticipated enrollment at NES for the school year
The history of family participation in the Cougar Campaign
We understand that some families can give more; others cannot give quite as much. We encourage all families to donate what they can toinvest in their child’s education.
I still have a question. Who can I contact? The PTAC Executive Board welcomes your questions and feedback. Please feel free to contact one or all of us. All discussions will be kept confidential. Our contact info can be found here.
How do I know if my employer offers a donation matching program? Your HR department or management can provide information about donation matching programs at your company. We strongly encourage you to take advantage of these programs when they exist with your employer. The PTAC is a registered non-profit 501(c)3 charitable organization (EIN 84-1519662).
